The snow flies and Cedar Rapids screams like a little bitty girl.

Kids had a snow day yesterday, and will have a snow day today. They were outside yesterday for HOURS and do you think they could be bothered to shovel the driveway or clean off my car? Oh HELLLLLS, no.

Rotten, ROTTEN children.

I wish I had some really great pics to show you. My fancy shmancy camera is in its bag in the closet, crying pitifully. But I’ve just done a few 12 hour shifts and all I really have time to do is sleep in between them.

These pics aren’t great, but I was just outside smoking and took them with my trusty iPhone to share with you. They’ll have to do, I suppose.

And it just keeps coming! It’s stacked a few inches high on the branches and looks a lot cooler than the picture shows. (this is the house across from the shelter)

Snow stuck on stucco (say that five times fast!)

The neighbor’s Christmas lights buried in the snow

  1. You made me all nostalgic for snow. I’m in AZ where temperatures are actually dropping by a reasonable amount but no snow. It’s so surreal to see Christmas lights galore amid palm trees and no snow!

Maybe I can get a snowcone or something. That counts, right? Go make a snow angel for me! And then, when you need warmth, come and warm up down here in AZ 😈
